Subsidies for the investments in high efficiency cogeneration

Recently, the Romanian Government has decided to support investments in high efficiency cogeneration through a state aid scheme amounting to 81.1 million euros.
 
 
The subsidies are granted for large, medium and small businesses (including micro-enterprises) for newly installed or refurbished facilities.
 
The aid scheme applies to projects that are proposing as actions:
 
  • Achieving / modernizing high efficiency cogeneration power plants (maximum 8 Mwe) for natural gas and biomass at the enterprise level;
 
  • Realization / upgrading of high-efficiency cogeneration plants that are using at the enterprise level, waste gases from industrial processes. 
 
The total budget of 81.1 million Euros representing 85% non-reimbursable funds from the European Regional Development Fund, respectively 15% representing public co-financing funds provided from the state budget, through the budget of the Regional Development Ministry, Public Administration and European Funds.
